Description
Each participant will leave with an introductory understanding of grafted apple trees, how they are planted, and basic tree care. We will briefly cover the role and importance of rootstock as well as scion wood in new apple trees. We will cover site selection, soil preparation, and tree selection along with the skill of actually digging and planting apple trees. Each participant will leave with a 1 year grafted apple tree. We will also enjoy some hot cider as we learn to plant trees!

Ages: 10+ Needs to be able to use a shovel. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a paying adult.

Dates: Other class dates are available. Please pay attention to which date you have selected. Transfers to other class dates will only be allowed if there is room in the other class. Classes will not exceed the listed maximum number of class participants. Classes may be canceled or combined to manage enrollment and orchard activities.
