Clay serves as the head orchardist and cidermaker. In any given day you will find him tending trees, pressing apples, or any of the other tasks necessary to make the cidery run. He loves to talk about cider, apples, trees, and sustainable food. Clay has a background in biology, education, and law. He teaches business communications in addition to making cider. Many years ago, he used his genetic biology degree in commercial agriculture. He is excited to put his knowledge and experience back to work in sustainable food production. Clay Slaughter is also an American Cider Association Certified Cider Professional and certified Cider Institute of North America Cidermaker. His favorites are: Cider – Dry and tannic but will drink sweeter cider balanced with more sour/tannin. Pommeau – Yes please. Tara serves as the business and financial lead for orchard and cidery. She is the financial brains of the operation and keeps us focused on making product for our customers. In addition to her business savvy, she has a keen knack for event planning and design. Tara has a background in university finance and education. Zack serves as the business intelligence and data analytics mastermind of the enterprise. He loves to engineer data collection, analyze data, and flex his business intelligence muscle towards making great cider. We track our trees on an individual basis, and that ability is due to Zack. Zack has a background in data analytics and business intelligence. He serves as a senior data analyst for a global firm in addition to maintaining all the data and website for orchard and cidery.
